Because I am ALSO something akin to a preteen on hormone crack with mood swings that tend to fluctuate wildly (it must be seriously so fun to be married to me), I NEED those quotes. It's my own form of self-motivation. If you see those from me, you know I'm probably feeling mopey about something and I'm whipping myself into a better mood.
But you know what? It totally works and I'm glad of it. I'd a WHOLE lot rather choose to embrace happiness and joy than melancholy and anger and depression. And if I annoy you... well... good. :)
"If you cannot annoy somebody with what you write, I think there's little point in writing." --Kingsley Amis

Embrace the happy! There's a world of misery out there to get bogged down in, but it' worth digging through the muck to find our happy places. I enjoyed your push for positivity--and that quotation from Kingsley Amis!
ReplyDeleteI heartily agree... :)
DeleteI read and enjoyed The Happiness Project this year. I have taken a great deal of it to heart. And I won a "relentless optimism" shirt recently (blog giveaway). Choosing to be happy can be very very hard but also very very worth it.
ReplyDeleteI started that one, but got stuck at the first chapter. I'll have to pick it up again
DeleteGreat quote! I also wrote about happiness. Woohoo for happy people.
ReplyDeleteLOL yay!
DeleteYou can spot an unhappy person a mile away. Life is too precious and too short to waste it being miserable. Choosing to be happy gets easier the more often you make that choice.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree.
DeleteI love your spirit! Happy A to Z! :)
ReplyDelete:) Thanks!
DeleteWhat a ripper quote! That's brilliant, hope you don't mind me "borrowing" it for when I get unsure whether to post something confronting or not.
ReplyDeleteI went to an outstanding conference last year called "Happiness and its Causes" in Brisbane. Good speakers talking about neuorscience, exercise, diet, meditation and all sorts of relavent things.

ha... Steal away!
DeleteThat conference sounds really interesting... I guess you don't think about how many different things can go into how we feel
I love annoying "Glass is Half Full" kinds of people! In fact, I find them the very opposite of annoying. :D
ReplyDeleteLOL Perfect!
DeleteThe prettiest girl is a happy girl. :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww
DeleteYou and I chose the same word today. Nice to "meet" you.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Nice to meet you too!
DeleteSuch great a great annoyance you are! LOL!
ReplyDeleteha!
DeleteThis made me smile, especially that you're a "glass is half full" person. As a criminal defense attorney, I often have to search for the positive in order to effectively advocate for my clients. One day I was making a particularly creative sentencing argument trying to keep my client out of jail. As I was finishing up, the judge started chuckling and said "Attorney Wildfeuer, with you the glass is always half full." (My guy still got a jail sentence, but it wasn't as long as it could have been.)
ReplyDeleteJudi
LOL That's awesome
